Late – but hopefully not too late – FIfF decided to organize a track on
Cyberpeace is more than the absence of cyberwar
at the
ISIS Summit Vienna 2015
Response and Responsibility of the Sciences of Information
Vienna University of Technology, 3 to 7 June 2015

You are invited to submit an extended abstract of about 750 to 2.000 words (less than 3 pages). See the instruction for authors further down after the Call for Papers.

Kai Nothdurft, Information Security Officer, Munich and Britta Schinzel, University of Freiburg,
both with Forum Computer Professionals for Peace and Social Responsibility (FIfF)

On the one hand, the track addresses the threats emerging from cyber warefare policies that include the worldwide and total surveillance of all digital communication media, the espionage and sabotage via the Internet endangering the main civil infrastructures, and the massive military armament that relies on information technology.

On the other hand, the track aims at peace in cyberspace in a very general sense meaning the peaceful use of the cyberspace for the benefit of human kind and the environment as well as for international understanding and worldwide development.
